In honor of fall my favorite season of the year, I’m going
to keep you updated on some events going on this weekend that can be enjoyed with
some friends or family.
POP-UP Pumpkin Patch
Guess what popped up in the city of Chicago? A Pumpkin
Patch! Jack’s Pumpkin Nights brought
one of the best parts about fall to the city. No more having to travel out to
the burbs to go through a corn maze, buy some pumpkins or enjoy a nice warm cup
of apple cider. Want to know something else? This pumpkin patch comes with a
twist… a secret bar! Now you might wonder what’s so secret about it, well you
have to go through the corn maze to find this little hidden paradise. Also, don’t
worry if you want to bring family along, this place welcomes all ages and the real
fun doesn’t begin until after 8 p.m. You will want to hurry though as Jack’s is
only here for 4 weeks. If you’re worried this might be out of your budget check
out this Groupon
that will still allow you to have an amazing outdoor experience.
Midnight Terror
If you’re looking for something more thrilling to do, how
about checking out a haunted house? That will surely make you be frightened
even of your own shadow. This year check out Midnight Terror Haunted House,
they have gone some renovations this year so even those of you who have gone
can go again. Midnight Terror has recently been named Illinois ‘s #1 must see
haunted house by TheScareFactor.com. This haunted house
features an insane asylum, toxic work environments, bloody butcher shops and
more!
An Annual Event
Coming to it’s 9th year the Highwood PumpkinFestival is a must see! Located in Highwood, IL this may be a little bit of
drive from Chicago but definitely worth it. This year the Highwood Pumpkin Festival
is trying to break the record for most jack-o’-lanterns on display. You can
also become apart of this by bringing your own carved out pumpkin and receive a
free admission pass to the event (accepted until Sunday afternoon Oct. 7th).
The festival begins Thursday, October 4 – Sunday, October 7 and will include
rides, carving activities, live music and much more. There will be a Superhero
5k run/walk on Saturday which you sign-up to do here -> Superhero
5k Run/Walk.
