Chicago, Illinois [The Windy City]

Chicago is home to more than 250 theaters, 56 museums, 225 music venues, 5,195 restaurants and over 700 art works. If you live in the city, suburbs or planning a trip to Chicago just know that you will NEVER run out of things to do in the Windy City.

I could sit here and just list the basic locations to visit in the city when planning a trip, but today we’re not going to focus on the museums or landmarks. I’ll introduce you to some new events, restaurants or just locations that never crossed your mind. As I mentioned before there is always something new in the state of Illinois and as of September 29, 2018, Chicago became home to the largest digital art projection in the WORLD! Yup! You heard that right.

ART on theMART

I’ve been patiently waiting for this project to launch and it finally has. So if you don’t have much going on tonight and live in Chicago or the suburbs check out this new display on theMART. Displays usually begin at 6:30pm and it will run from September 30 – December 30 (Wednesday – Sundays). If you want to learn more information about the project or plan a visit you can check out more information at Art on theMART. You can enjoy this new display with family or a special someone.

So there’s a trend here, more art! I mean who doesn’t love art, right? Art livens up the city and what better way to liven it up than by adding some color to streets of Chicago. If you’re in the city you might know these spots but for those traveling from the suburbs or out of state how about doing a scavenger hunt?  Instead of collecting items you can collect your own pictures of the murals and share them with the rest of the world on Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat! Here's a few of the most popular murals in Chicago. There are a lot more than you can imagine so if you want to know about where you can find more murals or if I should dedicate a post specifically to this let me know.

I'm Starving

So after all this talk about wandering through the city and some of the hot spots you can check out, I'm feeling hungry and what is better than good old traditional American food. City Mouse which has been open for a little over a year now is a great restaurant to check out for breakfast, lunch, dinner and desserts. They have a very diverse menu which includes pancakes for breakfast, maybe a salad for lunch, pastas, burgers and for dessert; ice cream, YUM! If you're of age, you can enjoy some cocktails or perhaps a glass of fine wine. Bon Appetit!
